Position Overview: The City of Pittsburg, CA is in search of a proficient manager to oversee and coordinate the operations of our water, sewage, storm water, and power utility services. This pivotal role involves directing the maintenance and supervision of water treatment facilities, wells, and reservoirs.
Annual Salary: $165,528 - $201,048 (Hiring Bonus up to $15,000)
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and implement departmental objectives with an emphasis on strategic planning for utility services.
- Exhibit strong leadership to manage administrative, operational, and planning functions related to water, sewage, storm water, and electricity utilities.
- Develop and enforce policies and procedures that align with the City's goals and regulatory standards.
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations impacting utility operations.
- Manage the Division's budget and priorities while maintaining quality assurance.
- Foster collaboration with other City Departments and public/private entities, representing the agency in relevant forums.
- Provide supportive leadership to create a cohesive and team-oriented work environment, including staff selection, training, and evaluation.
- Conduct research and data analysis for rate assessments, funding projections, and facility planning.
- Stay informed on legislative developments in the utility sector.
- Prepare and coordinate comprehensive reports and presentations on utility matters.
- Maintain a keen attention to detail for accurate reporting and documentation.
- Demonstrate effective organizational skills and a transparent leadership style to address internal issues and citizen inquiries.
- Set clear objectives while remaining adaptable to changing priorities.
- Keep abreast of new technologies and legislative changes.
