Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team. As an MRI Technologist, you will play a critical role in assisting in the diagnosis of disease and injury by performing magnetic resonance imaging procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and Position Patients: Prepare and position patients for diagnostic imaging procedures, including placing additional coils and/or immobilizing patients as required for the exam.
  • Assist Physicians: Assist physicians during the administration of contrast media and practice medical and surgical aseptic procedures as required. Monitor patients for allergic reactions and respond appropriately.
  • Determine Imaging Factors: Determine imaging factors based on the type of scan and patient characteristics.
  • Communicate with Patients: Thoroughly explain the process and procedure to patients to alleviate anxiety and facilitate patient cooperation. Monitor patients during a procedure to detect excessive anxiety.
  • Screen Patients: Screen patients and any visitors outside of the magnetic field before the exam for any precautions or contraindications pertaining to the exam.
  • Prepare Exams for Interpretation: Routinely prepare exams for interpretation by the radiologist, including correct identification and film processing, adequate clinical history, and previous exams for comparison if available.
  • Perform Other Duties: Perform other duties as required and assigned by Manager, including schedule changes and travel to office locations as assigned.
Requirements
  • Education: High school degree or equivalent required; AA/AS or BA/BS preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year of experience performing magnetic resonance imaging procedures.
  • Certifications: Current CPR certification; American Registry of Radiologic Technologist registration preferred; licensure and/or certification as required by the State of North Carolina.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of MRI procedures and protocols; knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform MRI procedures, including body mechanics and patient movement.
