MRI Technologist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at Akumin Operating Corp. As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for ensuring patient safety and performing high-quality MR studies. Your expertise will be essential in communicating effectively with radiologists, team members, patients, and customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for patient safety, including pre-screening for contraindications, aseptic injection technique, and remote MR Technologist Assistant oversight.
  • Produces high-quality diagnostic images and operates multiple MR systems.
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills to address concerns, solve problems, and address conflict.
  • Trains and orients new technologists, patient coordinators, and MR Technologist Assistants.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
  • ARRT (R) or ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification.
  • State license, if applicable.
  • CPR Certification.
  • Valid state driver's license, as applicable.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Registry in Magnetic Resonance by the ARRT.
  • 1 year of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Experience.
Physical Requirements:

The employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions during patient transport and a strong magnetic field. May be exposed to blood/body fluids and infectious disease when interacting with patients.

Work Environment: Sit, stand, walk, repetitive movement of hands, arms, and legs, see, speak, and hear to communicate with patients.
