About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Engineering Project Manager to join our team in Atlanta. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for managing a variety of transportation projects from design through construction, driving the success of engineering projects, and providing leadership and technical expertise to the Engineering team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage project budgets and implement best practices and process improvements to enhance project delivery efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Mentor staff and contribute to internal professional development and training to technical engineering team.
  • Provide leadership and technical expertise to the Engineering team, collaborating with other disciplines as needed.
  • Prepare schedule, budgets, and scope of services for projects, and work on workload balancing.
  • Support regional leader in business development and provide quality control over team deliverables.
Requirements
  • 12+ years of experience as a Transportation Engineer in a consulting environment or public entity, 5+ years as a Project Manager, and 3+ years managing staff.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Professional Engineering (P.E.) license or TE (Traffic Engineer) licensure, and experience in active, non-motorized transportation.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and experience preparing Plans, Specifications and Estimates packages for roadway projects, and a detailed understanding of project management principles, methods, and techniques.
  • Ability to guide staff members and manage internal team expectations, exhibits strong initiative and ability to capitalize on opportunities to enhance Alta's position in the marketplace.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, multiple simultaneous projects involving cross-functional project teams within budgetary and schedule constraints, and ability and willingness to travel.

  • Compensation: The pay range for this job in Atlanta is $115,000-$170,000 annually, placement within the range is based upon experience, skill-sets, and qualifications.
