We are in search of a dedicated Culinary Specialist to contribute to our Inpatient facility. This role is designed for a full-time commitment, with a schedule that includes Thursday to Saturday and rotating Sundays from 6:30 am to 5:30 pm.
Compensation:
Starting pay is set at $18.47 per hour.
Role Responsibilities:
- Ensure the kitchen operates in compliance with all relevant licensing standards and health regulations.
- Prepare meals according to a menu that has been approved by a licensed dietitian.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen equipment, utensils, floors, and storage areas.
- Collaborate with staff to accommodate the special dietary needs of clients, utilizing the Diet Manual for all Doctor-recommended diets.
- Conduct weekly inventory checks to ensure accurate ordering and minimize waste.
- Manage a budget effectively during the ordering process.
- Participate in discussions regarding meal planning and kitchen operations.
- Update and display weekly menus in the dining area.
- Prepare daily meals including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks, ensuring each client receives a proper portion.
- Adhere to food safety protocols at all times, including proper hand washing, temperature control, and sanitation practices.
- Keep all food storage areas clean and organized, ensuring all products are stored correctly.
- Wear appropriate chef attire, including a chef coat, black pants, and non-slip shoes.
- Maintain professionalism and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Provide training and education to clients as needed.
- Work closely with onsite staff and supervisors to ensure optimal service delivery.
- Prepare for inspections by ensuring all areas meet required standards.
- Maintain all necessary certifications and training, including CPR, First Aid, and Food Service Manager certification.
- High School diploma or equivalent, with at least two years of experience in a similar role, or an associate degree in food preparation.
- Food Handlers card is required.
- Servsafe Certification is highly preferred.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
