The Nurse Resident program at HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital is a comprehensive training initiative designed to support the transition of new graduate nurses into the clinical environment. This program provides a structured learning experience, focusing on advanced clinical training, educational sessions, preceptorship, and hands-on simulations.
Key Responsibilities- Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
- Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers, documenting the administration of care in the patient medical record.
- Administer prescribed medications, monitoring patient response and notifying providers as necessary.
- Provide exceptional patient care by responding promptly to patient requests and anticipating patient needs.
- Teach patients, families, and caregivers about patient medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up measures.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of employment.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 1 year of employment.
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
- Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State.
- No previous experience required.
HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital is a 380-bed acute-care hospital offering a full range of services, including interventional and therapeutic care, labor/delivery, pediatrics, orthopedics, oncology, and diagnostic services. We are a designated Certified Primary Stroke Center, a Level II Trauma Center, and a CARF-accredited Physical Rehabilitation Center.
