Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Vice President of Security and Privacy to join our leadership team. As a key member of our team, you will drive Thrive Global's security practices to the next level, building and leading a best-in-class security and privacy program and team. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the security and integrity of our systems, data, and customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute Thrive Global's security and privacy strategies, collaborating with cross-functional teams to align with business and technology goals.
  • Build and maintain a robust security governance framework, adhering to SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27000 / 27001 / 42001, GDPR, and other local regulations and compliance standards.
  • Oversee data privacy initiatives, ensuring that all data practices meet industry and legal privacy standards.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments, identifying potential security threats to Thrive Global's systems, infrastructure, and data, and implement mitigation strategies and security incident response plans.
  • Lead security crisis management efforts, establishing a swift and effective incident response plan, and conduct regular training and simulation exercises for the team and wider company.
  • Oversee technical security solutions, such as firewalls, intrusion detection, secure SDLC, and vulnerability assessments, and stay current with emerging security technologies and threats.
  • Build and lead a high-performing security team, fostering a culture of security-first principles across the organization.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in security, risk management, and compliance roles, with at least 5 years in a manager capacity.
  • Deep knowledge of compliance standards, such as SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27000 / 27001 / 42001, GDPR, and HIPAA, and hands-on experience identifying and working with third-party auditors.
  • Strong technical background with hands-on experience in network security solutions, encryption, secure SDLC, and physical security systems.
  • Demonstrated success in a fast-paced and high-growth environment, with experience in SaaS, start-up, AI (ML, LLM, and GAI), and/or healthcare.
  • CISSP, CISM, or other relevant security certifications are strongly preferred.
