Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled CT Technologist PRN to join our team at HCA Florida Fort Walton-Destin Hospital. As a CT Technologist PRN, you will be responsible for operating Cat-Scan equipment, positioning patients, and performing related duties in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate CT equipment to produce high-quality radiographs and scans of designated body parts.
  • Adjust equipment and patient positioning to ensure accurate and safe imaging.
  • Instruct and explain procedures to patients, ensuring their comfort and understanding.
  • Select proper technical factors for each examination, taking into account individual patient needs.
  • Evaluate completed radiographs/scans for positioning, technique, and adequacy of examination.
  • Closely observe patients, perform first aid as needed, and confer with physicians when requested exams appear at odds with the patient's condition.
  • Ensure accurate and timely entry of exam information, making edits as required, and verifying for radiologist review.
  • Record and maintain exam information in the CT log, properly documenting radiation dose and reporting outliers as necessary.
  • Perform QC functions as required, maintaining orderliness and cleanliness, and adhering to prescribed standards of Radiation Safety.
Requirements
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Registered Radiographer (ARRT) (R) required; (CT) required within 12 months of hire.
  • State of Florida Registered Radiologic Technologist.
  • Associate Degree in Radiological Technology required.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of anatomy, positioning, radiographic techniques, and radiation protection concepts and techniques.
