Job Title: Certified Peer Specialist

Gateway CSB PEO LLC is seeking a Certified Peer Specialist to join our team. As a Certified Peer Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with severe and persistent mental illness in their recovery journey.

Job Summary:

The Certified Peer Specialist will provide peer support and guidance to individuals in our community integration program. This program is designed to assist individuals with severe and persistent mental illness who have been referred by the probate court. The Certified Peer Specialist will work closely with the interdisciplinary team to provide support and guidance to individuals in their recovery process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide peer support and guidance to individuals in the community integration program
  • Work closely with the interdisciplinary team to provide support and guidance to individuals in their recovery process
  • Assist individuals in developing and implementing their recovery plans
  • Provide education and support to individuals on mental health topics
  • Collaborate with community resources to provide support and guidance to individuals
Requirements:
  • Certified Peer Specialist credential in the State of Georgia
  • High school diploma/equivalent
  • Minimum of 40 hours of CPS training
  • Mental health and/or Forensic Certification
Work Environment:

This role operates in a variable business setting with trips into the community. The Certified Peer Specialist will be required to travel between Gateway sites and in the community. The physical demands of this role include frequent walking, sitting, standing, and occasional climbing or balancing. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and have the ability to sit for long periods of time at a computer.
