Classic Granite & Marble operates a cutting-edge fabrication and production facility, complemented by an award-winning showroom. Our extensive inventory includes a wide variety of stone slabs, enabling us to manage projects from inception to completion, including laser templating, CAD design, fabrication, and installation. We cater to both residential clients and commercial contractors.
Role Summary
The Estimator plays a crucial role in determining the financial aspects of stone fabrication and installation projects. This position involves a thorough understanding of project specifications, interpreting blueprints, and utilizing specialized software to generate precise cost estimates. The Estimator collaborates closely with sales, project management, and production teams to ensure that all estimates are competitive, profitable, and align with customer requirements and timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze project specifications, blueprints, and related documentation to prepare comprehensive estimates for time, costs, materials, and labor.
- Calculate expenses related to materials, labor, equipment, and other project-related costs.
- Employ estimating software to produce detailed and accurate cost assessments.
- Prepare estimates for various stone applications, including countertops, bathrooms, vanities, fireplaces, and custom stonework.
- Draft and submit precise quotations to clients.
- Collaborate with sales and project management teams to develop and present proposals to clients.
- Ensure compliance of all proposals with company standards and client specifications.
- Engage with clients to clarify project requirements and address any inquiries.
- Provide timely and professional responses to client questions regarding estimates and project costs.
- Work in tandem with the sales team to understand and fulfill customer needs.
- Coordinate with project managers and production teams to ensure estimates are feasible within production capabilities and timelines.
- Continuously enhance estimating processes and tools to boost accuracy and efficiency.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in the construction industry is advantageous.
- Proficient in interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong mathematical aptitude.
- Familiarity with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Able to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Spanish language skills are a plus but not mandatory.
