About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales Representative to join our team at Johnson Controls International. As a Life Safety Service Sales Representative, you will be responsible for promoting and selling Electronic Fire Service offerings to various customers and end users within assigned territories and accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the entire sales process, from uncovering opportunities to closing deals and providing ongoing customer service.
- Work with other sales, technical, design engineering, service, support, and management teams to meet customer needs.
- Assume account representative/account management responsibility, including the provision and coordination of services to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
- Quickly identify and qualify opportunities using excellent sales, presentation, and closing techniques.
- Determine customer needs and develop a sales strategy to gain customer understanding of company product offerings.
- Conduct building surveys to support the development of estimates.
- Develop and maintain an active proposal backlog to support achieving sales plan objectives.
- Develop financial justifications, prepare proposals, make presentations, and perform necessary follow-up for successful closing of sales.
- Close sales to meet or exceed sales plan objectives.
- Investigate and resolve customer problems related to delivery dates, billings, financing, and other matters.
- Maintain established accounts through regular customer contact to pursue additional sales.
- Perform periodic market investigations within assigned territories to develop new applications and provide sales forecasting.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of all sales-related activities.
Requirements
- Highly self-motivated and success-driven individual with a high energy level and strong desire to succeed.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, with good organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to persuade and close sales.
- Ability to obtain necessary licenses required by national, state, and local codes.
- Minimum two years of successful sales or technical experience with fire alarms, security control, and monitoring or similar industry.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to obtain NICET certification within the first 12 months of employment.
- Experience working with electrical contractors, ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams desirable.
- Computer experience, including familiarity with Word, Excel, and job costing systems, Microsoft and Oracle programs preferred.
