We are seeking a highly skilled Project Safety Specialist to join our team at Turner Construction. As a key member of our safety team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, subcontractors, and clients on construction projects.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Safety Programs: Create and implement comprehensive safety programs to ensure compliance with company policies, federal, state, and local regulations, and project owner contractual requirements.
- Conduct Safety Audits and Training: Conduct regular safety audits and provide training to construction project teams on safe work practices, environmental health and safety (EH&S) programs, and policies.
- Build Relationships and Communicate Effectively: Build strong relationships with project teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure effective communication and collaboration on safety-related matters.
- Monitor and Analyze Safety Metrics: Monitor and analyze safety metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement, and make recommendations to senior management.
- Administer Safety Programs and Procedures: Administer safety programs and procedures, including drug screening, first aid, and emergency response plans.
- Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, or related field, and a minimum of 2 years of related construction safety experience.
- Certifications and Training: Construction Health Safety Technician (CHST) certification, OSHA 30-hour training, and current First Aid/CPR/BBP and AED certifications.
- Skills and Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
The work environment for this position will be primarily on construction sites, with occasional work in an office or remote setting. The noise level will vary depending on the work environment, and the employee will be required to work in compliance with company safety policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
