Job Overview

The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company is seeking an undergraduate student to fill the role of Construction Intern. This internship provides hands-on practical experience in the construction field, allowing the selected candidate to assist project teams in managing construction projects from bidding to final completion.

Key Responsibilities

As a Construction Intern, you will be responsible for assisting project teams in various tasks, including quantity take-off, layout, preconstruction/as-built surveys, and shop drawing review/approval. You will also be involved in submittal review/approval, request for information (RFI) review/submission, and interfacing with subcontractors and suppliers. Additionally, you will assist with coordinating work between the owner, architect, and subcontractors, and participate in weekly progress meetings.

Requirements

To be eligible for this internship, you should be familiar with software such as Primavera, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Exchange. You should also be able to work effectively in a team environment and possess excellent communication skills.
