In this essential role within the manufacturing sector, you will spearhead Ecolab's Production System's prominent Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiative as we foster a cultural evolution in our continuous improvement efforts. As the TPM Manager, you will be instrumental in driving significant change; your hands-on approach will enable you to identify and address resistance to change, guiding both individuals and teams through the transformation journey. Your expertise in TPM, combined with practical process knowledge and stakeholder engagement, will empower you to pinpoint, prioritize, and oversee various enhancement projects.

This position is ideal for a self-driven individual who possesses a proactive mindset, a sense of urgency, and a commitment to taking ownership in promoting improvements and cultural shifts in manufacturing excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Safety, Health, and Environmental (SH&E)

  • Enhance plant safety through ongoing improvement initiatives.
  • Advance the safety culture via TPM projects and collaboration with the Safety Pillar.
  • Champion safety across all departmental functions.
  • Engage in plant safety meetings, conduct worksite inspections, and participate in SH&E audits and assessments.
  • Perform Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) observations to reinforce safe practices and address at-risk behaviors within the organization.
  • Ensure that incidents, accidents, and unusual conditions are properly identified, communicated, managed, and investigated to comply with both external and internal standards.

Service Delivery

  • Execute Ecolab's Production System's prominent TPM Strategy within the facility, utilizing methodologies that align with the Global framework and other capabilities, while ensuring sustainable systems deployment.
  • Supervise external consultant activities on-site as necessary, aiming for self-sufficiency and site autonomy.
  • Drive rapid transformation.
  • Act as a hands-on team builder, adept at recognizing change management challenges and guiding individuals and teams through the transition process.
  • Identify, prioritize, and manage multiple improvement initiatives.
  • Spend over 50% of your time engaging with employees and teams throughout the plant.
  • Coordinate area projects with the site 5S leader and facilitate Kaizen/lean events.
  • Document all TPM and savings projects in the Project Management Tool (PowerSteering) as applicable.
  • Conduct Self-Assessment exercises in accordance with the required framework to guide ongoing TPM progress in line with Global & Regional Master plans.
  • Perform regular Plant Health Checks to ensure adherence to the TPM governance model.
  • Assist the Plant Manager in preparing for Plant-related TPM audits.

Cost Savings Initiatives

  • Support and promote the implementation of Loss Analysis and TPM.
  • Utilize Loss Analysis to uncover significant opportunities through TPM methodologies to systematically identify and mitigate major losses.
  • Drive cost savings through loss analysis and deliver actionable savings opportunities, becoming a pivotal contributor to supply chain excellence and achieving savings targets.
  • Maintain a cost reduction strategy by continuously assessing operational methods and procedures, seeking more efficient approaches to achieve results.

Leadership Development

  • Lead and cultivate improvement teams to support the Plant Manager.
  • Encourage a culture of development through TPM.
  • Deliver TPM training in alignment with the Global TPM Strategy and Road Map.
  • Represent the site in the Reaction Plant network TPM leadership group.
  • Support manufacturing skills models to foster a Loss Analysis culture.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Logistics, Science, Business, or a related field.
  • 6 years of experience in a manufacturing or supply chain environment.
  • 3 years of experience in coaching and leading cross-functional teams, including team building, understanding motivation and negotiation techniques, and providing direction to others.
  • 2 years of experience with TPM principles and methods, including 5S, Autonomous Management, Planned Maintenance, Visual Management, and Kaizen.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced technical degree.
  • 3 years of experience in cross-functional project or program management, leading process improvement projects for specialized chemical processes, applying TPM in a JIPM TPM award-winning facility, or overseeing Operational Excellence initiatives in a manufacturing context.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, leadership capabilities, outstanding decision-making skills, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • 2 years of experience in a lean six sigma leadership role.
  • Proven track record of driving large-scale cultural transformations.
