Experienced Meat Department Manager

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Meat Department Manager to join our team at BJ's Wholesale Club. As a Meat Department Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of meat department team members, managing meat department operations, and ensuring the highest level of customer service to our members.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership: Provide strategic direction and guidance to the meat department team, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver exceptional customer service and meet sales and profitability goals.
- Customer Service: Ensure that all members receive a high level of service, responding to their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels, ensuring that the meat department is always fully stocked and that products are rotated and displayed in a way that maximizes sales and minimizes waste.
- Team Development: Train and develop team members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their jobs effectively.
- Operational Excellence: Ensure that all meat department operations are running smoothly and efficiently, including receiving and inspecting meat shipments, conducting inventory counts, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
Requirements
- Leadership Experience: Proven leadership experience in a retail or food service environment, with a track record of success in leading high-performing teams.
- Customer Service Skills: Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to respond to member needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Inventory Management Skills: Strong inventory management skills, with the ability to manage inventory levels and ensure that the meat department is always fully stocked.
- Team Development Skills: Ability to train and develop team members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their jobs effectively.
- Operational Excellence: Strong operational skills, with the ability to ensure that all meat department operations are running smoothly and efficiently.
Working Conditions
- Physical Demands: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent lifting, bending, and standing.
- Environmental Conditions: Ability to work in a refrigerated environment, with frequent exposure to cleaning agents and sharp knives.
