Role Overview

The Project Manager plays a critical role in steering cross-functional teams to formulate and implement project strategies while adhering to timelines, managing costs, and ensuring project specifications are met. The primary objective is to enhance the efficiency of individual projects within a multifaceted project portfolio, prioritizing the speed of new product development.

Key Responsibilities

To cultivate a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be tasked with:
  • Overseeing projects from initial approval to final delivery
  • Crafting detailed work plans for each project phase, incorporating feedback from resource managers and team members
  • Developing and maintaining project timelines
  • Ensuring all project documentation is created, compliant with standards, and systematically organized
  • Collaborating with fellow project managers to allocate resources and address project requirements in line with corporate goals
  • Engaging with key stakeholders to define and manage project scope, ensuring alignment with cost and profitability targets
  • Monitoring and reporting on project financials
  • Facilitating timely decision-making to achieve project goals through teamwork
  • Effectively resolving project-related challenges and conflicts
  • Contributing to the ongoing enhancement of project management methodologies
  • Coordinating communication among team members and organizational stakeholders
  • Seeking advice from supervisors and senior team members for new tasks and complex decisions
  • Meeting or surpassing expectations for leadership, productivity, and safety
  • Performing additional duties as required, including managing special projects outside of new product development
Qualifications

To qualify for this position, candidates should possess the following minimum qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, business, project management, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience)
  • NP Project Manager II requires 2-4 years of relevant experience
  • NP Project Manager III requires 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Microsoft Project is advantageous
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is a plus
  • Basic knowledge of the new product development process
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Understanding of critical chain project management methodology
  • Above-average ability to identify and resolve conflicts
  • Capacity to assess limitations and escalate issues when necessary
  • High emotional intelligence with a focus on collaboration and teamwork
