Job Summary:

The Production Manager will support the production department's activities, including designing, documenting, analyzing, manufacturing, and testing electronic components, products, and systems. This role will evaluate new and existing products for ease of manufacture and coordinate and monitor material flow through the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the design process on new projects
  • Review existing designs and provide input on improvements
  • Interface with vendors for cost-effective material approaches
  • Supervise the organization and control materials in the stockroom
  • Inform management of component material and delivery schedule discrepancies
  • Independently resolve production, inventory planning, and forecasting issues
  • Develop, document, and test new and existing products and develop test procedures
  • Collaborate with materials, manufacturing, and purchasing departments to identify and resolve production planning problems
  • Record and manage electronic data files
  • Document, process, and complete paperwork
  • Maintain training on critical processes and procedures

Requirements:

  • Basic familiarity with passive microwave test procedures, concepts, and equipment
  • Knowledge of RF matching networks, passive microwave components, and waveguide theory
  • BS or MS degree in engineering or a hard science (Physics, Math, etc.) or 5+ years of related experience and/or training
  • Five to fifteen years' experience

Preferred Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints (detail part drawings)
  • Ability to read, analyze, interpret, create, and communicate technical procedures; competent at RF/Microwave network analysis measurements
  • Ability to create and modify drawings (ACAD/Solidworks)
  • Ability to plan, organize, and schedule test and manpower based on product types
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from vendors and customers
  • Ability to work with hands (dexterity) for assembly and test troubleshooting
  • Consistently at work and on time; ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent
  • Follows instructions, responds to management direction, and takes responsibility for own actions
  • Keeps commitments and commits to additional hours of work when necessary to reach goals
  • Problem analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Basic computer literacy (Excel spreadsheets, Word documents)
  • Team player with a positive attitude and flexibility
