About the DepartmentThe Department of Theatre Arts & Dance at Sonoma State University is a vibrant and dynamic community of artists and scholars dedicated to the study and practice of theatre and dance. Our department offers a range of undergraduate degree programs in theatre and dance, and we are committed to providing our students with a comprehensive education in the arts.
About the PositionThe successful candidate will teach courses in technical theatre, including costume design, lighting and sound design, and stage management. The position requires a strong background in technical theatre, as well as excellent teaching and communication skills. The ideal candidate will be able to design and teach courses that are engaging and challenging for students, and will be able to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds.
Responsibilities- Teach courses in technical theatre, including costume design, lighting and sound design, and stage management
- Design and teach courses that are engaging and challenging for students
- Work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds
- Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with departmental goals and objectives
- Master's degree in Theatre or related field
- At least 2-3 years of experience teaching technical theatre at the undergraduate level
- Strong background in technical theatre, including costume design, lighting and sound design, and stage management
- Excellent teaching and communication skills
