Job Description:
The Orientation and Mobility Instructor is responsible for teaching individuals who are blind/visually impaired to travel as independently, safely, and efficiently as possible in any environment. The instructor teaches travel skills, plans and provides individualized programs, and utilizes a variety of instructional techniques to motivate individuals to develop appropriate skills, attitudes, and knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach travel skills to individuals who are blind/visually impaired
- Plan and provide individualized programs to meet the needs of each student
- Utilize a variety of instructional techniques to motivate students and promote learning
- Create a safe and orderly learning environment
Requirements:
- Master's Degree
- Current O&M certification by ACVREP (COMS)
