About the Role

Pawnee Mental Health Services is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mobile Crisis Peer Support Specialist to join our team. As a Mobile Crisis Peer Support Specialist, you will provide community-based mobile crisis care to individuals in need, utilizing your experience receiving mental health services to provide crisis interventions in a more familiar and comfortable environment.

You will work collaboratively with hospitals, medical and behavioral health providers, law enforcement, and other social services to provide comprehensive care to our clients. This role requires flexibility in scheduling, with shifts up to 10 hours in length and varying schedules as the program builds towards 24/7 availability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide community-based mobile crisis care to individuals in need
  • Collaborate with hospitals, medical and behavioral health providers, law enforcement, and other social services
  • Develop and implement crisis plans with clients
  • Provide education and support to family members and significant relationships
  • Meet clinical and ethical documentation standards

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current or past life experience as a primary consumer of mental health services
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and automobile liability insurance
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, using the English language
  • Basic computer skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a mental health crisis setting or working with individuals experiencing a mental health crisis
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
