Job Title: School Age Educator

Erie Neighborhood House is seeking a dedicated and passionate School Age Educator to join our team. As a School Age Educator, you will be responsible for implementing programs and providing direct service to children in a comprehensive School Age Program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide a safe and inclusive environment for children to learn and grow.
  • Work with the Site Director to develop and implement program plans and activities.
  • Participate in bi-weekly curriculum planning meetings and weekly clinical staffing to ensure individualized recommendations are implemented into daily programming.
  • Monitor and document individual needs of each child and complete biannual evaluations.
  • Encourage children to develop a sense of responsibility and respect for themselves, others, and the program property.
  • Maintain accurate records, including school sign out sheets, attendance sheets, and educational files.
  • Attend weekly staff meetings, supervision meetings, and training sessions to increase professional knowledge.
  • Assure proper care of program equipment and supplies.
  • Monitor overall health and safety of all program children.
  • Develop positive relationships with parents, teachers, and children.
  • Support Erie's fundraising efforts and attend agency meetings and events.
Requirements:
  • Either 45 hours of college courses with at least 6 hours in child development or related field, or 30 hours of college courses with 9 hours in child development/related field plus at least 1560 clock hours verifiable of experience in working with children.
  • Bicultural/Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
  • Physical constraints required include lifting and carrying children and other items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to respond immediately to any emergency situation.
