Tax Compliance Specialist

Job Title: Tax Compliance Representative
This position is part of the Employment Development Department and involves working under the close supervision of a Tax Administrator. The Tax Compliance Representative performs a mixture of routine and complex compliance assignments, requiring judgment and knowledge of statutes, regulations, and compliance procedures to resolve delinquent tax liabilities and/or delinquent tax returns.
Responsibilities- Contact employers and their representatives by telephone, written correspondence, field calls, or other collection tools to resolve case assignments.
- Use automated systems and software applications, including Microsoft Office, to complete tasks and maintain accurate records.
- Collaborate with colleagues to achieve compliance goals and resolve complex issues.
- Participate in training and meetings to stay updated on policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Basic skills in using personal computers, laptops, and Microsoft software applications.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employers and colleagues.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply judgment and knowledge of statutes and regulations.
This position is headquartered in Anaheim and may be eligible for telework under EDD's telework policy. Employees are required to report to their headquarters office as needed and are responsible for their own travel expenses.
This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship, and applicants must be authorized to work in the US without the need for visa sponsorship by the start date of employment.
