Key Responsibilities:
* Evaluate donor eligibility for automated plasma donation, including the administration of approved immunizations.
* Provide emergency medical assistance to donors and staff, ensuring adherence to certification standards.
* Foster positive relationships with donors through effective communication and support.
* Conduct thorough and confidential interviews to assess donor suitability and gather necessary health information.
* Collaborate with medical professionals to address donor-related medical inquiries and provide guidance on health issues.
* Review medical histories and health assessments to determine donor eligibility based on screening results.
* Notify and guide donors regarding any reactive test outcomes, facilitating referrals for further medical support.
* Clearly explain the informed consent process to potential donors, detailing procedures and associated risks.
* Manage medical emergencies within the center, following established protocols and ensuring the availability of emergency supplies.
* Maintain accurate records of donor information in compliance with operational procedures.
* Uphold a clean and efficient working environment, ensuring the availability of necessary supplies.
* Adhere to all health and safety regulations, promoting a culture of safety within the workplace.
* Maintain confidentiality of all sensitive information related to donors and staff.
* Participate in cross-training initiatives to support various operational needs.
* Bilingual skills may be beneficial to meet the diverse needs of our donor population.
* Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
* Valid state licensure in a relevant medical field or completion of an accredited medical training program.
* At least one year of experience in a healthcare setting or relevant clinical training.
* Preferred experience in a plasma collection or regulated healthcare environment.
* Ability to conduct thorough physical assessments and recognize signs of health issues.
* Strong communication skills to educate donors and staff about plasma donation benefits.
