Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Treatment Planning
    • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' symptom presentations, professional input, and available data to develop effective treatment plans.
    • Implement treatment plans in accordance with state and regulatory standards.
  • Patient Support and Education
    • Provide individual, family, and group therapy sessions to patients, displaying good theoretical knowledge of psychopathology and effective treatment techniques.
    • Engage patients and their families in understanding and adjusting to diagnoses and potential treatments.
  • Discharge Planning and Resource Coordination
    • Work closely with patients, families, nursing staff, and attending physicians to ensure timely and efficient discharge planning.
    • Identify and provide resources and support for patients before, during, and after treatment.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Participate as an active member of the multidisciplinary team and the unit community relations team.
    • Communicate effectively with peers, senior management, and staff through written and verbal communications.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Master of Social Work degree required.
    • Minimum one year internship or experience in a similar position and/or industry preferred.
  • Licensure and Certification
    • Social Worker licensure required within two years of start date.
    • Current licensure, or as allowed by the governing state, the ability to work under the guidance of LMSW (Licensed Master Social Worker) or LICSW (Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker).
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Effective presentation skills.
    • Ability to manage stress appropriately.
    • Ability to make decisions under pressure.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with other professional and support staff to achieve positive patient outcomes.
