Key Responsibilities- Assessment and Treatment Planning
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' symptom presentations, professional input, and available data to develop effective treatment plans.
- Implement treatment plans in accordance with state and regulatory standards.
- Patient Support and Education
- Provide individual, family, and group therapy sessions to patients, displaying good theoretical knowledge of psychopathology and effective treatment techniques.
- Engage patients and their families in understanding and adjusting to diagnoses and potential treatments.
- Discharge Planning and Resource Coordination
- Work closely with patients, families, nursing staff, and attending physicians to ensure timely and efficient discharge planning.
- Identify and provide resources and support for patients before, during, and after treatment.
- Collaboration and Communication
- Participate as an active member of the multidisciplinary team and the unit community relations team.
- Communicate effectively with peers, senior management, and staff through written and verbal communications.
- Education and Experience
- Master of Social Work degree required.
- Minimum one year internship or experience in a similar position and/or industry preferred.
- Licensure and Certification
- Social Worker licensure required within two years of start date.
- Current licensure, or as allowed by the governing state, the ability to work under the guidance of LMSW (Licensed Master Social Worker) or LICSW (Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker).
- Skills and Abilities
- Effective presentation skills.
- Ability to manage stress appropriately.
- Ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Ability to communicate effectively with other professional and support staff to achieve positive patient outcomes.
