Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Hardware Systems Engineer to join our team at InterImage. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing complex hardware systems for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop hardware systems for SIGINT solutions, including end-user devices, servers, networking devices, data storage devices, and specialized processors.
  • Provide hardware engineering expertise to analyze complex hardware systems, hardware design, architecture, network design, and other technical hardware issues.
  • Procure and perform acceptance testing on equipment, and provide hardware maintenance support, both preventative and remedial.
  • Deploy, install, and implement hardware at Continental United States (CONUS) and Outside Continental United States (OCONUS) locations.
  • Prepare specifications for hardware by analyzing documented and derived system requirements, and conduct site surveys.
  • Prepare engineering plans and site Technical Design Packages, and organize and direct hardware installations.
  • Configure and document configuration of computers, networking devices, and various peripheral equipment, and prepare site installation and test reports.
  • Ensure that problems have been properly identified and solutions will satisfy the user's requirements, and prepare reports and recommendations concerning existing and emerging hardware technologies.
Requirements
  • Fourteen (14) years' experience as a Hardware Engineer analyzing complex hardware systems for SIGINT solutions is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Five (5) years of additional hardware engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
  • IAT Level II Certification (Security+, etc.) and familiarity with Microsoft Visio (or similar tools) are required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Support Linux and Windows server and workstation environments - operating systems, services, and hardware dependencies.
  • Provide expertise building, maintaining, and provisioning virtualization architectures (Hypervisors, virtual machines, virtual networks, virtual storage, etc.).
  • Utilize and provide planning/operations guidance and direction in the use of collaboration, scheduling, and tasking tools & technologies (Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, etc.).
  • Analyze hardware specifications and system/subsystem requirements to conceive and document a practical design for hardware components.
  • Prepare functional requirements and specifications for hardware acquisitions, and ensure that problems with operational hardware have been properly identified and solutions will satisfy the user's requirements.
  • Assist with preparing installation guides, field test procedures, and troubleshooting guides, and recommend specifications for hardware acquisitions.
  • Develop hardware & software installation schedules based upon dependencies, set-up, integration, and test timelines, and train site personnel in proper use of hardware & software.
  • Analyze and recommend hardware specifications for project-unique or modified commercial hardware, and assist with building simulations of proposed systems and provides hardware throughput analyses to system engineers.
  • Design and verify test harnesses/simulated interfaces for all test and integration phases, and analyze operational data to identify choke points, failure modes, and other data for design or maintainability improvements.
Clearance Requirements

A TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph (FSP) is required; however, we are able to start with Conditional Certification of Access (CCA), with the understanding that the FSP process will begin shortly after start date.

Physical Requirements

The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
