License Requirement: Valid Minnesota Teaching License in Special Education
Preferred: K-12 ABS, K-12 EBD, Multiple Licenses

Position Overview:
Deliver academic and goal-oriented learning experiences that promote student advancement across various environments.

Key Responsibilities: Engage in and contribute to the building student support teams. Act as an IEP/IFSP case manager. Collaborate as a team member in staffings. Lead team meetings to assess student progress and formulate IEP/IFSP in relation to student requirements. Design and execute suitable educational programs for individuals. Implement educational strategies as outlined in individual IEP/IIIP/IFSP and provide necessary information for building staff. Maintain accurate records and reports. Gather data on progress towards goals and objectives for each student while adhering to all required timelines. Develop, coordinate, and assess transition-related experiences for students, if applicable. Guide paraprofessional staff members. Effectively communicate with students, families, educators, and administrators regarding student programs and progress. Collaborate with students, families, related service providers, external agencies, and other team members to foster the growth of each student. Work cooperatively with general education teachers and staff, providing consultation, support, and training as necessary. Establish and maintain a professional working relationship with families and staff. Acquire and demonstrate knowledge of general education curriculum, including grade-level outcomes and state standards. Conduct assessments, compile comprehensive reports, and adhere to Minnesota state criteria in areas of special education eligibility while meeting mandated timelines. Identify and complete purchase orders for supplies, materials, and equipment based on student needs. Participate in building and District-level professional development activities. Understand and uphold boundaries and confidentiality with students, families, and staff. Perform all other duties and responsibilities within certification areas as directed by the Director of Special Services and/or the Building Principal. Other responsibilities as assigned. Job Specifications (Education, License, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

Required: Current Minnesota licensure in two special education areas or the ability to achieve prior to obtaining continuing contract status (one license area required for early childhood). License requirements are based on student level and program. Ability to travel between sites as needed. Consistent, regular, and reliable attendance. Capability to perform routine computer functions, including the use of email, Microsoft Word, and due process systems. Communicates positively and responsively with students, parents, co-workers, supervisors, and the community, fostering effective work relationships. Demonstrates an appreciation of diversity in all interactions and job functions. Posting will be removed from the website when the position has been filled.
