The role involves supporting the special education instructor in the effective management and operation of the classroom environment. This includes working with individual students or small groups as directed by the supervising educator.
The organization is seeking a candidate with a diverse skill set to meet the varied needs of the program.Applicants should demonstrate the ability to confidently guide and redirect students, possess strong administrative skills such as copying and laminating, and be comfortable facilitating small group activities in reading and mathematics. Additionally, candidates should be adept at supervising larger groups during lunch and recreational activities. A positive attitude and flexibility in daily responsibilities are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in executing the individualized education plans for students, including both physical and behavioral management strategies.
- Support the implementation of individual plans across various settings as assigned by the supervising educator.
- Gather and report observational data regarding assigned students in different school environments.
- Help prepare, collect, and maintain educational resources and equipment.
- Participate in staff meetings, conferences, and other special gatherings as requested by the supervising teacher.
- Complete necessary educational documentation and reports related to individual students in the special education program.
- Perform any additional duties as deemed necessary by the team and approved by the Special Education Coordinator.
- Engage in district training programs prior to and throughout employment.
Qualifications:
A High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Candidates must possess the necessary skills to effectively work with children, staff, and parents. Physical capability to assist students with their needs is essential.

Successful candidates will have the skills required to perform tasks effectively while working with children, staff, and parents. Physical capability to assist students with their needs is also necessary.
Work Schedule:
The position is part-time, requiring 6 hours per day, divided into 3 hours for Special Education, 1.5 hours for Clerical tasks, and 1.5 hours for Instructional duties, 5 days a week.
