Job Summary

Osseo Area Schools is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Assistant to join our team in the Connect Program. As a key member of our special education team, you will provide essential support to students with cognitive impairments, ensuring they receive the academic, social, and self-care support they need to thrive.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the special education teacher in implementing students' individualized instructional plans, including physical and behavioral management.
  • Support the implementation and follow-through of students' individual plans in various school settings.
  • Collect observational data about assigned students and report to the supervising teacher.
  • Assist in the preparation, collection, and maintenance of educational materials and equipment.
  • Participate in staffings, conferences, and special meetings as requested by the supervising teacher.
  • Complete educational forms, reports, and other student-related data as directed by the special education teacher.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work with children, staff, and parents, with physical capability to lift and attend to students' needs.
  • Participation in district training programs prior to and during employment.
