Position Overview:

The Head of Cybersecurity Operations will oversee the evaluation, design, development, deployment, monitoring, compliance, maintenance, and training of cybersecurity initiatives across Gray Construction. This role serves as the Security Subject Matter Expert, providing leadership on effective security frameworks, policies, protocols, procedures, and technologies to enhance our threat detection, protection, and recovery capabilities in an ever-evolving threat landscape. The successful candidate will conduct risk assessments and audits, offering recommendations to strengthen Gray's cybersecurity posture, and will collaborate with IT leadership to implement necessary improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and IT management to identify security requirements and vulnerabilities, guiding the implementation of cost-effective, multi-layered security solutions.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with security peers, third-party vendors, and law enforcement to stay informed on current threat intelligence and response strategies.
  • Work with Legal and Business Stakeholders to formulate business continuity and incident response plans.
  • Conduct ongoing monitoring and audits of systems to ensure compliance with security standards.
  • In partnership with security personnel and IT leadership, oversee the monitoring and response to cyber threats within Gray's environment.
  • Contribute to IT strategy discussions, bringing insights on cybersecurity technologies and best practices relevant to business needs.
  • Research and recommend scalable and efficient security solutions that ensure data protection and integrity.
  • Lead the implementation of new security technologies, participating in testing, evaluation, and training processes.
  • Engage in Disaster Recovery planning and testing to enhance organizational resilience against cyber incidents.
  • Participate in budgeting for cybersecurity solutions and services, assessing risks versus costs in security options.
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies, external regulations, and satisfaction targets for customers and employees.
  • Contribute to the development of security policies related to governance, risk management, and incident management.
  • Prepare and review documentation for security projects, including RFPs and contracts.
  • Manage vendor relationships and evaluate vendor performance.
  • Interact regularly with management teams across all Gray locations to ensure compliance with security standards.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to direct reports and other staff members.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Over 10 years of experience, including at least 5 years in IT management within a security organization.
  • Extensive knowledge of security capabilities in Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments.
  • Proven success in designing and implementing enterprise-level security programs across multiple locations and cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with standardized security frameworks, particularly NIST.
  • Active security certification is required.
  • Experience in developing and publishing IT Security policies and procedures.
  • Comprehensive understanding of security frameworks: Identify, Protect, Detect, Respond, Recover.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to educate and guide stakeholders on security best practices.
  • Strong collaboration skills, creative and strategic thinking, excellent communication abilities, and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities with the ability to transfer technical knowledge and mentor others.
  • Proficient in presenting information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
