Senior Protection and Control Engineer

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Protection and Control Engineer to join our team at Qualus Services. As a key member of our Substation Protection and Control department, you will be responsible for coordinating with various groups to ensure design concurrence and developing complete engineering design packages for protective relaying and communications systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with Substation Physical Engineering, Relay Settings, and other groups to ensure design concurrence.
- Develop complete engineering design packages for protective relaying and communications systems, including one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, AC schematics, DC schematics, logic and functional diagrams, panel layouts, control house layouts, wiring/connection diagrams, interconnection diagrams, relaying equipment specifications, and bill of materials.
- Develop SCADA packages, including input/output lists (Point Data Sheets).
- Provide technical direction and on-the-job training to drafters, engineering technicians, and less experienced engineers.
- Develop, nurture, and maintain trusted relationships with senior-level engineers, managers, and executives with current or prospective clients.
- Confidently and comfortably present technical solutions to key customers; respond in real-time to technical concerns and answer questions in a knowledgeable and articulate manner.
- Direct and/or participate in client meetings/job site visits to collect or deliver design and engineering data.
- Perform/Ensure company's Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) processes are followed on all design packages.
- Delegating, planning, prioritizing, and reviewing the work of other engineers will be critical.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) with a power systems focus. An MS Degree in engineering will be considered in lieu of the BS Engineering degree. International Engineering Degrees will be considered.
- Seven or more years of electrical engineering experience is desired, experience in protection and control engineering is required.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration or plan to become registered is required. Professional Engineering registration in the working state is a plus.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are required.
- Must have strong analytical and computer skills.
