Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Student Personnel Technician to join our team at California State University, Los Angeles. As a key member of our financial aid office, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional service to our students, faculty, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Disseminate financial aid information to current and prospective students, members of the campus community, and external agencies
  • Manage a caseload, answer phone inquiries, and staff the front counter
  • Perform file reviews, tailor information to meet individual student needs, and determine financial aid eligibility
  • Award financial aid and acquire knowledge of federal, state, and third-party software systems
Requirements
  • Equivalent to two years of full-time responsible general clerical experience in a college or university financial aid office
  • General knowledge of interviewing techniques, policies, and procedures of financial aid programs
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, basic computer skills, and strong customer service skills
  • Ability to sustain a working knowledge of financial aid program changes, analyze and evaluate data, and advise students on financial aid contracts
Working Conditions

This is a full-time, exempt classification position with a temporary one-year appointment, may be extended, and may become permanent. The incumbent must have a demonstrated interest and/or ability in working in a multicultural/multiethnic environment.
