Position Summary:

The International Psychology Division within the College of Graduate and Professional Studies is seeking a Program Faculty member. This division encompasses the International Psychology Certificate (Crisis Informed Care for a Globalized World), the Master of Arts in International Psychology (MA IP), and the PhD in International Psychology (IP PhD). The certificate and MA programs are delivered online, while the PhD program is available online and at select campuses. Throughout the academic year, the faculty member will engage in teaching, lead international field experiences, provide student advisement, chair dissertation committees, participate in both virtual and in-person residencies, conduct research, and contribute to professional service within the institution and the community. Faculty responsibilities are aligned with TCS Education's workload policy, with potential adjustments based on departmental needs and individual expertise.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teaching:
    • Deliver 24 credit hours of instruction across six terms.
    • Hold weekly office hours for student engagement.
    • Stay updated in the field of international psychology and revise course materials accordingly.
    • Develop course syllabi and plans in line with the International Psychology Division standards.
    • Select appropriate textbooks and educational resources.
    • Utilize various instructional methods, including lectures and discussions, in a higher education environment.
    • Create and maintain a system for evaluating teaching effectiveness and student learning outcomes.
  • Advising:
    • Manage an advisee load that meets the needs of the International Psychology Division.
    • Provide mentorship to advisees regarding academic and career development.
    • Assist advisees in preparing application materials and writing recommendation letters.
    • Collaborate with the Department Chair to monitor student progress and develop individualized Academic Development Plans when necessary.
    • Present student progress at Faculty meetings and communicate any concerns.
  • Dissertation Guidance:
    • Assist students in selecting dissertation topics and provide expertise in international psychology.
    • Guide students in managing timelines, writing, and research methodologies.
  • Research and Scholarship:
    • Engage in qualitative and quantitative research, present findings at professional conferences, and participate in community service initiatives.
  • Institutional Service:
    • Maintain scholarly activities that advance the field of professional psychology.
    • Encourage student involvement in community service.
    • Participate in community engagement efforts.
  • Committee Participation:
    • Contribute to the functions of the International Psychology Division, including student progress analysis and faculty recruitment.
    • Engage in curriculum development and mentoring of new faculty members.
Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. in psychology is required.
  • Demonstrated success in collaborating with diverse professionals to achieve academic objectives.
  • Experience in leading international field experiences.
  • Proven track record of publications in professional journals.
  • A minimum of three years of teaching experience in doctoral programs related to international psychology or psychology.
  • Familiarity with online teaching platforms, including Canvas LMS.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment that values individual accountability.
  • Preferred: Record of scholarship and community service.
  • Commitment to professional conduct and ethical standards.
