We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist I to join our team at OSF HealthCare. As a Phlebotomist I, you will be responsible for obtaining blood and other specimens from patients in a variety of settings, including laboratories and patient care areas.
Key Responsibilities- Obtain blood and other specimens from patients using established policies and procedures
- Verify patient identification and prepare skin sites for venipuncture and skin punctures
- Label and transport specimens to the laboratory for analysis
- Perform clerical and computer duties associated with the laboratory, including data entry and specimen tracking
- Maintain a professional relationship with patients, staff, and physicians
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail-oriented
- CPR certification through the American Heart Association and Phlebotomy Technician Certification (PBT) preferred
- 6 months of experience in a team-oriented environment or customer service role, or completion of a formal structured phlebotomy program
