Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist I to join our team at OSF HealthCare. As a Phlebotomist I, you will be responsible for obtaining blood and other specimens from patients in a variety of settings, including laboratories and patient care areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain blood and other specimens from patients using established policies and procedures
  • Verify patient identification and prepare skin sites for venipuncture and skin punctures
  • Label and transport specimens to the laboratory for analysis
  • Perform clerical and computer duties associated with the laboratory, including data entry and specimen tracking
  • Maintain a professional relationship with patients, staff, and physicians
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail-oriented
  • CPR certification through the American Heart Association and Phlebotomy Technician Certification (PBT) preferred
  • 6 months of experience in a team-oriented environment or customer service role, or completion of a formal structured phlebotomy program
