Job Title: Senior Radiation Protection Specialist

ETAS Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Radiation Protection Specialist to join our team at our office in Portsmouth, OH. As a key member of our team, you will provide technical support for radiation safety functions at the Department of Energy (DOE) Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant Site and support the DOE's Portsmouth Paducah Project Office (PPPO) under the PPPO Technical Support contract.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Develop and recommend processes and changes to operations to reflect the DOE's radiation safety programs.
  • Support the surveillance and technical support of a compliant and robust radiation protection safety program.
  • Review and assess DOE's and site contractor's radiation safety, operations, and material free release requirements.
  • Perform daily, direct field observation and surveillance activities, monitoring of site contractor activities, and their achievements and progress in meeting DOE radiation safety performance objectives.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree (or Master's Degree) in Engineering or Science or related field from an accredited university.
  • At least ten (10) years of experience in related operations (i.e. power reactor, uranium processing, nuclear fuel, radioactive waste, or radioactive cleanup site).
  • At least ten (10) years of Radiation Protection program operational management or oversight experience.
  • Experience in reviewing and preparing reports on radiation protection or health physics related issues.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • NQA 1 Lead Auditor
  • Professional safety, health physics, or radiation protection certification
  • DOE Site Experience
  • Deactivation and Remediation site experience
  • Degree in Health Physics from an accredited college or university
