Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Evening Culinary Specialist is responsible for preparing a variety of menu items in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This role requires a keen understanding of food preparation techniques and the ability to work efficiently in a team setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook menu items including meats, vegetables, baked goods, and salads in accordance with established recipes and standards.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in reading and interpreting English menus, ensuring timely preparation of food items prior to service.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and storage areas, utilizing appropriate cleaning supplies and practices.
  • Monitor food quality and safety, discarding any items that do not meet standards and reporting discrepancies to management.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong multitasking skills and the ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy.
  • Flexibility to assist in various kitchen areas as needed, including preparation and closing duties.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety.

Physical Requirements:

This position involves standing for extended periods, lifting up to fifty (50) pounds, and performing tasks that require bending, stooping, and walking on uneven surfaces.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the transition of duties between shifts, ensuring continuity of operations.
  • Complete cleaning and operational checklists as assigned.
  • Adhere to attendance policies as outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Fulfill other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
