Senior Principal Materials and Processes Engineer

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Principal Materials and Processes Engineer to lead our non-metallic efforts on a classified program. The successful candidate will be responsible for addressing issues with sealants, coatings, and subsystems, and will oversee and participate in the generation of test plans and reports.
Key Responsibilities- Lead all non-metallic efforts on a classified program, including addressing issues with sealants, coatings, and subsystems.
- Oversee and participate in the generation of test plans and reports.
- Review and approve subcontractor material processing procedures and may be asked to travel to subcontractor locations to address M&P issues.
- Perform root cause analysis of material failures and provide effective solutions to production issues.
- Analyze, research, design, and develop materials and their related fabrication and application processes to develop and optimize materials for use in engineering design of and/or application in structures, systems, and subsystems.
- Apply principles of chemistry, physics, and material behavior to develop metallic, non-metallic, and composite material and processing specifications, fabrication and assembly processes.
- Develop, analyze, and apply material properties and design allowables, processing processes, and quality engineering specifications.
- Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with a minimum of 9 years of experience, including a background in composites for airframe structures.
- Experience with metallic fabrication and design on aircraft.
- Experience with repair processes for metallic materials used in aerospace structures.
- Higher technical level may be considered based on candidate's experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
- BS or MS in Materials Science or similar.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate in a team environment.
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and/or accomplish them simultaneously.
- Ability to comprehend and analyze complex problems and develop solutions.
- Experience with military specs and standards.
- Experience interfacing with a military customer.
