Job Description
This is a unique opportunity to join our team as a Public Health Nurse Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for providing nursing services to students and families enrolled in Durham Public Schools. Your primary goal will be to promote the health and welfare of children in our schools while collaborating with community partners to address health issues and improve outcomes.

  • You will identify and help address health issues, needs, and barriers to care, using your expertise in public health principles and techniques.
  • You will assist in relationship building with the Durham community, Public Health, and other community partners as needed.
  • You will document work-related tasks in electronic medical records according to policy and protocol.
  • You will participate in outreach and community events as required.
  • You will respond to emergency situations and participate in preparedness activities as assigned.
