Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled Nursing Care Assistant I to join our team at Duke University Health System. **About the Role:**

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of non-professional nursing duties under the direct supervision of an RN/LPN. This includes preparing patients, equipment, and supplies for specific procedures, administering treatment and personal care procedures, and participating in teaching activities by reinforcing instruction as needed.

We offer a competitive salary of $43,000 - $53,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development. Additionally, we provide relocation assistance to help you settle into our vibrant community in Durham, North Carolina.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare patients, equipment, and supplies for specific procedures
  • Administer treatment and personal care procedures
  • Participate in teaching activities by reinforcing instruction
  • Assist physician and nurses with physical examinations
  • Take and record vital signs, apply ice bags, administer douches and enemas
  • Note and report any changes in patient's condition


Requirements:
  • Current Nurse Aide I Registry listing with the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services Division of Health Service Regulation
  • Graduation from high school or GED; or an equivalent combination of related education and experience
  • BLS certification from American Heart Association
