We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer II to join our team at Recaro Aircraft Seating. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for coordinating all technical activities on assigned projects, ensuring effective communication and coordination between all disciplines and project participants.
Key Responsibilities- Project Coordination: Coordinate all aspects of the design and certification of aircraft seats, including coordination of designers, design engineers, electrical engineers, certification engineers, and product support personnel.
- Task Planning and Scheduling: Plan, schedule, and track engineering tasks, providing detailed reports to Program and Engineering Management.
- Customer Communication: Summarize technical customer requirements, communicate this to the team, and ensure customer expectations are being met.
- Design Changes and Requests: Respond to customer concerns by making design changes in seat design and components in a manner that meets customer expectations and is in conformance with applicable regulations.
- Design Meetings and Coordination: Coordinate design meetings with other project engineers to discuss engineering issues, including design changes and requests from customers.
- Purchasing and Production Support: Support Purchasing and Production by providing bills of materials and documentation to support sourcing of components.
- Service Bulletins and Approvals: Periodically write Service Bulletins pertaining to modification of fielded seats, and coordinate service bulletins approval with airworthiness authorities.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Experience in the use of CFR, EASA CS, (E)TSO regulations, as well as the use of parts lists with high variant diversity is desired.
- PLM Database Systems: Knowledge of PLM based database systems such as Teamcenter, Agile, or Enovia is desired.
- Root Cause Analysis: Complete root cause analysis on MRB (Material Review Board) actions, and present resolutions to the Engineering, Quality, and Operations Departments.
- Supplier Interface: Interface with outside suppliers during the design process.
- Telecoms and Meetings: Effectively participate and contribute in telecoms and meetings with overseas-based engineers and program management by applying engineering knowledge, discussing manufacturing issues, and suggesting potential seat development topics and innovations.
- Material Verification: Verify use of appropriate materials according to their usage on the seat using advanced knowledge.
- Capacity Planning and Tracking: Monitor capacity planning and tracking for all engineering tasks on assigned projects.
- Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree required in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering field with 2-7 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Advanced Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of manufacturing processes is required.
- Design Experience: Experience in the design of Aircraft interiors is required.
- Aircraft Documentation Systems: Knowledge about aircraft documentation systems for after sales (CMM, SB) and aircraft configuration control systems is required.
- CATIA V5 Experience: A minimum of 2 years' experience in CATIA V5 or similar is required.
- Travel Requirements: Employees are expected to travel up to 25% of the time both National and International as required.
