Job Title: Switchboard Operator

Cincinnati State Technical and Community College is seeking a Federal Work Study Student to work as a Switchboard Operator.

Job Summary:

The Switchboard Operator will be responsible for responding to all incoming calls to the college's main telephone number. The successful candidate will perform routine and some non-routine work involving the operation of the college telephone switchboard.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Answer incoming calls and respond to inquiries in a helpful manner
  • Distribute calls to the appropriate parties
  • Assist with and evaluate calls to ensure efficient and effective communication
Requirements:

To be eligible for this position, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a high school graduate or have attained a GED
  • Be at least 16 years of age on or before the date of hire
  • Have completed a FAFSA for the current school year
  • Meet and continue to meet Satisfactory Academic Progress
  • Be a United States citizen or eligible non-citizen
  • Demonstrate financial need
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Sound judgment and decision-making abilities
Working Conditions:

This is a part-time position working no more than 20 hours per week. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment and must be able to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.

Compensation:

The hourly pay rate for this position is $14.00 per hour.
