About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented R&D Technician to join our team at WB Blends - Supplement Contract Manufacturer. As a key member of our R&D team, you will be responsible for reviewing product formulations, establishing preliminary flavor profiles for quotations, and formalizing flavor profiles for customer samples.

Key Responsibilities
  • Adhere to cGMP and SOPs to ensure the highest quality standards
  • Work with the supply chain and quality teams to qualify new suppliers and ensure compliance
  • Develop and maintain up-to-date documentation for flavors, including technical documents and lead times
  • Collaborate with flavor houses to obtain pricing, samples, and technical information
  • Create and manage RDSSF sheets for client signature on approved samples
  • Develop and implement live unit and sample retention protocols
  • Monitor organoleptic properties of raw materials and update spec sheets accordingly
  • Operate and maintain a clean and hygienic standard of operation
  • Develop and present flavor samples in a timely and professional manner
  • Coordinate with the business development team to gather information for sample creation
  • Pull samples from the lab and warehouse
  • Batch formula base and weigh out individual servings
  • Package individual servings and create sample labels
  • Coordinate with the shipping department to ensure timely delivery
  • Update tickets with tracking information and note missing materials
  • Put materials away in their place and maintain accurate inventory
Requirements
  • Knowledge of cGMPs and ability to manage processes and procedures
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. and ability to manage tasks effectively
  • Attention to detail and ability to evaluate supplier documents for accuracy
  • Organization skills and ability to manage samples, documentation, and data entry
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science or equivalent field preferred but not required
  • 1-3 years of R&D, product development, or flavoring experience at a dietary supplement manufacturer, flavor house, or brand
Working Environment
  • Exposure to various environments, including general office, industrial complexes, food processing plants, and clean rooms
  • Temperature variances, high noise levels, and dusty environments may be encountered
Physical Demands
  • Sitting, use of hands, talking, hearing/listening, tasting/smelling, standing, walking, bending/stooping, climbing stairs, and ability to lift up to 50lbs
