The role of the Medical Laboratory Technician Instructor and Coordinator involves overseeing the educational and operational aspects of the laboratory program. This position is essential for ensuring that students receive a comprehensive and practical education in medical laboratory science.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the inventory of laboratory supplies and equipment to ensure availability for instructional purposes.
- Collaborate with the program director and faculty to establish an effective laboratory schedule.
- Create and update a comprehensive policy and procedure manual for laboratory operations.
- Organize and maintain laboratory supplies and equipment for optimal functionality.
- Work with maintenance services to ensure the laboratory environment is clean and safe.
- Adhere to quality assurance and safety standards within the laboratory setting.
- Prepare necessary equipment and materials for faculty and student utilization.
- Engage with faculty in the development of curriculum to enhance educational offerings.
- Support accreditation processes and requirements.
- Deliver instructional courses within the Medical Laboratory Science program.
- Conduct laboratory tours to promote the program during recruitment initiatives.
Qualifications:
- A Master's degree and appropriate licensure in Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS), Medical Laboratory Science (MLS), or a related discipline.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Commitment to fostering student achievement and an inclusive educational atmosphere.
- Familiarity with instructional technologies and teaching methodologies.
- Capability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and industry stakeholders.
