Telehealth Technician/LPN Job Description

Valor Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Telehealth Technician/LPN to provide high-quality patient care in a dynamic and supportive environment. As a Telehealth Technician/LPN, you will play a vital role in delivering medical treatment and personal care services to patients with various conditions and injuries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with patient care, physical examinations, and ancillary tests via telehealth modalities, including Clinical Video Teleconferencing (CVT), Care Coordination Store and Forward (CCSF), and Care Coordination Home Telehealth (CCHT).
  • Oversee telehealth appointment scheduling, ensuring seamless coordination with parent VAMC schedulers.
  • Perform annual and routine nursing assessments, including interviewing and collecting patient information, and recording details in patient electronic medical records.
  • Administer medications, apply compresses, and observe patients for adverse reactions.
  • Operate electrocardiograph (EKG) and other diagnostic equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests and treatments.
  • Collect lab specimens, including urine, blood, and sputum, and perform waived laboratory tests.
  • Clean treatment rooms, equipment, and supplies using approved manufacturer wipes and/or solutions.
  • Submit laboratory and radiology results to medical providers and update patient medical records.
  • Ensure proper clinic stop codes/identifiers are used for each modality to capture workload accurately.
  • Input patient information into VISTA/CPRS and complete clinical reminders.
  • Assist with front desk duties, phone coverage, and co-managed care collaboration with non-VA providers.
  • Provide patient and family health education, focusing on self-management, prevention, wellness, and healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Maintain confidentiality of veterans' data and information, complying with all VA and company training requirements.
Requirements:
  • Diploma or certificate from an accredited program of practical or vocational nursing.
  • Minimum one-year experience as an LPN/LVN in a related primary care or ambulatory care setting, preferably in a government healthcare environment.
  • Credentialed and in good standing through the Veterans Health Administration (VA).
  • Valid, unrestricted license in the state of desired employment or any U.S. state or territory, depending on VA contractual requirements.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support and ACLS, as specified by individual VAMC contract.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Strong computer skills, including EMR experience.
  • Energetic and optimistic demeanor.
