We are seeking an experienced Admissions Utilization Review Specialist to join our team at Yonder Behavioral Health. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective management of admissions and utilization review processes.
Key Responsibilities- Admissions and Utilization Review: Conduct thorough assessments of patients to determine appropriate levels of care and treatment needs, and coordinate and facilitate the admissions process to ensure all necessary documentation and authorizations are obtained.
- Clinical Collaboration: Work closely with clinical staff to review treatment plans and ensure alignment with insurance requirements, and communicate with insurance providers to obtain treatment authorizations and resolve any authorization-related issues.
- Data Analysis: Review and analyze utilization data to identify patterns and trends, and provide recommendations for optimizing resource allocation and utilization.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all admissions, authorizations, and related documentation.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about insurance coverage, benefits, and any potential limitations or requirements.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field (preferred) or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in behavioral health, with a focus on admissions and utilization review.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of insurance requirements, utilization management, and treatment authorizations in the behavioral health field, as well as familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and other relevant healthcare software systems.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, excellent organizational and time management abilities, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
