Job Summary

Graham Packaging is seeking a Quality Inspector to join our team in York, PA. This is a full-time position that operates on a 3,2,2,3 schedule, working nights from 7pm-7am.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the quality of bottles and final packages before shipment to customers.
  • Train new personnel on quality and plant quality systems.
  • Work closely with supervisors and production employees to achieve quality products.
Primary Duties
  1. Understand, follow, and enforce all established safety, health, quality GMP, and company policies, procedures, and recognized practices.
  2. Participate in continuous quality improvement projects and other related activities as assigned.
  3. Compare products on each line with production schedules, inform supervisors of discrepancies, and take appropriate action.
  4. Perform visual checks of bottles and box glue patterns for final packaging audits.
  5. Report rejected defects to PMTs and supervisors, following through until defects are corrected.
  6. Follow established procedures for defective products and provide information to supervisors when products are put on "Hold".
  7. Report completed rework of defective products data according to established procedures.
  8. Assist in training as assigned and assist supervisors as required.
  9. Perform specified checks in accordance with the plant's inspection plan.
  10. Verify correct operation of in-line inspection devices, such as leak testers, vision systems, metal detectors, and other automated inspection equipment.
  11. Complete all reports and forms for product and process documentation.
  12. Enter required data to the plant's Statistical Process Charts (SPC) database.
  13. Complete written documentation as required.
  14. Assist in break relieves and help out in production areas when needed.
  15. Keep Quality Assurance inspection areas clean.
  16. Communicate about quality with other shifts and departments verbally and through written documents according to established procedures.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 1 to 3 years in manufacturing required.
  • Minimum of 6 months quality experience preferred.
  • Ability to maintain regular, predictable, and punctual attendance.
  • Computer usage and typing skills are essential.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
