Job Title: Master Mechanic

At Bunge North America, we are seeking a highly skilled Master Mechanic to join our team at our Destrehan, LA soybean processing facility.

Job Summary:

The Master Mechanic will be responsible for the mechanical maintenance of the facility, including diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairment of equipment and instruments. This role requires a strong commitment to safety and quality, as well as excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Predictive and preventative maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and part replacement of plant equipment
  • Laser alignment, ultrasonic, and lubrication of equipment
  • Operating mobile equipment/heavy machinery and using measurement devices, including calipers, pi tapes, and micrometers
  • Welding and cutting using a torch: tig, mig, and stick on piping and structural
  • Rigging and using cables and slings
  • Sheet metal layouts and assembly and installation of bearings on shafts
  • Alignment of coupling between two inputs
  • Following written instructions for maintenance
Requirements:
  • Millwright/Mechanic experience, required
  • Welding and cutting using a torch, required
  • Written/Verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to work in a highly quality controlled environment
  • Ability to work in a safety conscious environment
  • Ability to maintain a good working relationship with other facility personnel
Education/Experience:

High school diploma or GED equivalent, preferred. Associates degree and/or technical certification, preferred. 3 years experience as mechanic or millwright, preferred.

Work Schedule:

Overtime required as part of the normal schedule, call out availability, and an on-call rotation.
