Master Mechanic

Role Purpose StatementMaster Electrician is responsible for the electrical maintenance and some instrumentation of the Destrehan, LA soybean processing facility. Candidate must actively participate in Bunge s Employee Safety Policy and maintain a safe work environment for self and all employees. Additionally, this role is responsible for demonstrating a commitment to supply safe food, maintain a food safety culture within the site, continually improve the site s food safety management system and comply with customer and regulatory requirements.Bunge is an Equal Opportunity Employer. troubleshoot and repair Programmable Logix Control (PLC) (Allen-Brady) systemsCalibrate and/or troubleshoot process instrumentation, use handheld communication (TREX is a plus)Responsible for plant wide electrical troubleshooting and repair (electrical circuits of 480VAC or less)Troubleshoot and repair variable frequency drive (VFD) and AC/DC systemsAbility to perform general electrician skills including but not limited to running conduit and sizing and pulling wiresAbility to follow, interpret, and read blueprints and schematicsInspect for conformity to industry standards or specificationsTroubleshoot and repair electrical components of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic industrial equipmentMaintain electrical switchgearAbility to lay out and install conduitWorking knowledge of thermographyOther duties as assignedKnowledge and Technical CompetenciesPLC experience, preferredHVAC experience, preferredWritten/Verbal communication skills Ability to work in a team environment Ability to work in a highly quality controlled environment Ability to work in a safety conscious environment Ability to maintain a good working relationship with other facility personnelEducation/ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED equivalent, preferredAssociate degree and/or technical certification, preferred5 years of industrial electrical experience, preferredWork ScheduleOvertime required as part of the normal schedule, call out availability, and an on-call rotationBunge (NYSE: BG) is a world leader in sourcing, processing and supplying oilseed and grain products and ingredients.
