Job SummaryThe Procurement Supervisor will play a critical role in supporting the freight forwarding and business departments at GLOVIS America, Inc. This position will be responsible for supervising the day-to-day procurement operations, managing vendor relationships, and driving cost and performance optimization strategies.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and manage procurement activities, including vendor relationships, contract management, and RFx processes.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to drive cost savings and improve supplier performance.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to analyze proposals, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Lead and support the development of negotiation plans and strategies to secure favorable pricing and terms.
- Provide market study insights and trends to inform procurement decisions and drive business growth.
- Supervise and train procurement staff to ensure continuity of supply and meet business needs.
- Associates degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 4 years of experience in procurement, logistics, or a related field; 5 years preferred.
- 1-3 years of supervisory experience preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Proficient in PC skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Working knowledge of industry and market conditions, with experience in operations, including freight forwarding and domestic transportation.
