Job Summary

This is a hands-on management position that requires full ownership of all aspects of the intermodal drayage trucking operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for daily operations, profit and loss management, achieving budget goals, sales, contractor recruiting and retention, facility maintenance, and office personnel management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Terminal Strategies
  • Ensure the terminal is properly staffed and staff are adequately trained
  • Oversee property, leases, and safety and security at the terminals
  • Directly monitor day-to-day operations for efficiency and profitability
  • Assist in the development of operational and sales strategies
  • Work directly with the sales team to ensure adequate revenue
  • Make additional sales calls as needed
  • Manage and monitor terminal budget and ensure budgeted numbers are met
  • Direct Capex, Opex, and P&L oversight
  • Responsible for proper XRS training, installs, and ensures HOS are being met
  • Responsible for terminals following proper process and procedure in TMW operating system
  • Responsible for terminals following proper MNR, billing, CSR, and Admin processes and procedures
  • Handle all other tasks related to the terminal and backup
  • Perform all other duties or projects as assigned
  • Travel as needed to attend meetings and conferences
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or two to five years of experience in intermodal drayage or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft platforms and various transportation operating systems
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to write simple correspondence and to effectively present information to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Ability to understand financial and sales performance statements
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work with and manage people
Work Conditions
  • Sedentary physical activity requiring reaching, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, feeling, repetitive motions, talking, and hearing
  • Visual requirement is for close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus
  • 90% or more time is spent looking directly at a computer
