Join a prestigious medical institution as a Liver Transplant Anesthesia Specialist at VCU Health - MCV Physicians. This one-year fellowship provides an unparalleled opportunity to develop expertise in liver transplant anesthesia.

The program is designed for future leaders in the field and offers a comprehensive curriculum that includes clinical experience, didactic education, and scholarly endeavors. Fellows will gain hands-on experience in pre-transplant candidate assessments and work closely with transplant hepatology, transfusion medicine, and transplant critical care medicine teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Teaching: Supervise residents and transplant division CRNAs in specialty-specific cases, with a focus on liver transplant cases.
  • Clinical: Participate in pre-transplant candidate assessments and work as an attending anesthesiologist in general operating room cases.
  • Education: Develop academic projects and receive funding for conferences, books, and other approved resources.

Qualifications:

  • MD or DO degree
  • ABA board eligible/certified in anesthesiology
  • Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Virginia
  • Strong communication, clinical, and teaching skills
  • Demonstrated experience working in a diverse environment or commitment to do so
